Your Day In History

I stumbled across this idea on another web site and thinks its just great.

First go to Wikipedia and enter your birth month and day not the year in the search field.

Then record:

Any events that you felt were important

Any interesting births

Any interesting deaths

And finally a holiday

Events on my day:

1988 - Ben Johnson is stripped of his gold medal in the 100 m sprint at the Seoul Olympics for failing a drug test.

1969 - The Brady Bunch debuts on ABC-TV and would run for five years.

1934 - Steamship RMS Queen Mary is launched.

Births on my day, besides me:

1968 – Jim Caviezel, American actor

1964 - Nicki French, British singer

1956 - Linda Hamilton, American actress

1948 - Olivia Newton-John, British-born Australian singer and actress

Holidays

French Republican Calendar - Cheval (Horse) Day, fifth day in the Month of Vendémiaire
I have no idea what holiday this celebrates other than maybe horses.... but it doesnt sound to exciting to me.

Political Beliefs

I have always loved filling in these online questionnaires to tell me what I’m really like…. But this one got my attention. I identify myself as a Liberal and was surprised by the accuracy of the results. I am a social Liberal but also consider myself a fiscal conservative. I think this is a common belief with quite a few people that live in this country, and may explain why we have had two consecutive minority governments. I don’t think there is one political party in Canada, at the moment, that speaks for the social liberal/fiscal conservative.

Your Political Profile:
Overall: 30% Conservative, 70% Liberal
Social Issues: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal
Personal Responsibility: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal
Fiscal Issues: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal
Ethics: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal
Defense and Crime: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal
