I love to give my opinion even when people don’t want to hear it. This is one outlet where I can say what ever I want without interruption. So what ever pop’s into my head is likely to show up. If I’m not talking to myself, which is a very good possibility, let me know what you think.

I will say that I don't read Newsweek Magazine on a regular basis but when I saw this I had to share. Newsweek publishes all over the world and the cover story may differ from area to area. Seems that the photographer Annie Leibovitz is more popular than stories on Afghanistan. You be the judge.

It seems like I have been neglecting this blog again. There is a definite cycle where I have so many things that I would like to write about that there isn’t enough time in the evening to put it all down and then I can go for a week or more without having anything that I would like to blog about. So here goes.
Its been quite a crazy few days around here. It all started on Friday evening when the store where I work was struck with another tragic lose. One of my employees was murdered on his way to visit his girlfriend. It was quite a shock for us. It hasn't even been a year since we lost our last employee in a freak accident. I think that the fact that they were both in their early twenties compounded the tragedy. Living in Ottawa all my life I have always thought this city was a safe place to work and play. Mike's murder was the 14th this year in Ottawa and the 3rd in one week, and to add to my worry it happened only blocks from where I live, and on a city bus, no less. It just makes you pause and think about your own safety. I have been all over this city at many different times of the night and day and never really worried about my safety before.
On a lighter note I also celebrated my birthday on Tuesday. Happy 34th.... almost half way to 40. We went up to the cottage with a couple of friends and had a few drinks and played a few games. The weather certainly cooperated with us. We were all dressed for the cold, like last year, but it was really warm with lots of rain. Overall it was a really nice time.
Then at some point over the last few days we had our 500th visitor to this blog. Now that's not many compared to some sights that get over a million visits a day, but its about 495 more than I expected to get.
Finally here is a video Riley sent to me its a nice light way to end things for now. Although its a bit disturbing.

Maybe that's because I'm thirty something....lets not dwell on that. The first video is Bossy, her new single. I really like it maybe cause' I can be pretty bossy in real life.

Being Canadian I probably should put of the video they used for their launch on August 31st, 1984 but I really don't like Rush. Just in case people remember them here you go.
Here are a couple of interesting videos. At least I think there interesting. First up is a weatherman, this video has been making the rounds lately so I thought I should post it here. All I have to say about it is that no matter how "straight" you think you act and that no one can tell that you're gay something like this almost always happens to give it away. Maybe not exactly like this, but something.
The second video is a clip of Perez Hilton, who over the last year has taken his celebrity blog and turned it into a must visit for over a million people a day. What's he famous for? Talking about celebrities. Just to give you an idea how popular he is check out this video. Riley I'm sure you probably already watched it, but just in case, here you go.
Well it's all over for another year. My summer guilty pleasure Big Brother is done and more than the changing leaves and cooler temperatures nothing signifies the beginning of fall more. (Sad isn't it.) For the last 7 seasons I have watched all most all of Big Brother, its the perfect summer show. There is nothing socially redeeming about it, it's just good clean fun with lot's and lot's of eye candy.
Its been 24 hours so I think its safe to talk about the finale.

Okay as I discussed earlier my favorite competitor was Janelle so I kind of lost interest after last weeks show. All I wanted out of the final episode was to watch Mike Boogie loose half a million dollars to the woman that he called a ho. He manipulated Erika's feelings all summer and played on her romantic side to use her to do his dirty work. I think Erika played the better game all summer she floated, telling everyone what they wanted to hear. It was no secret to the house guests that this is what she was doing, but know one figured that she was a threat and kept her in the house week after week. Erika only betrayed one person, that being Danielle and she told her before the evection that is was going to happen. Also Erika needs the money more than Mike. That really shouldn’t be a consideration, but Mike owns multiple restaurants with celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher and Wilmer Valderama. Mike also would have been evicted weeks ago if Will hadn't taken care of him all season. Needless to say, I was very disappointed when Julie Chen announced Mike Boogies name. That's enough cause if you don't watch the show you could probably care less about who did what to whom. It was a great summer for the show. I really liked the all star version because it took no time to get in to the game. (Who to hate and who to cheer for) It was a bit of a consolation to see that Janelle won the $25,000 jurors prize, awarded by the viewers. Not much of a surprise, she is one of the most well liked people on the show. If you watched the view today there was a visit to the show by the two runners up.(thought there was only one) Rosie had Mike, Erika, and Janelle on the show and it was almost embarrassing the way she fawned over Janelle and Erika. She called mike on all the crappy things he did this season and barely let him get a word in. Priceless. CBS if your listening please give Big Brother 8 the go head I can't wait for July.
It seems that Whitney Houston has cleaned up her act and kicked Bobby Brown to the curb. I can hear some of you now. Who cares? I have been an obsessed fan of Whitney’s for years. My brother will vouch for this, I tortured him all through his adolescents by making him listen to various Whitney albums. Surprisingly enough he still speaks to me. It’s been a busy couple of days for Whitney, first there was the announcement that she has begun working on a new album with Clive Davis. He was the man who discovered her in the early 80’s and launched her career. Then last night Whitney made a rare public appearance at an awards show for Johnny Mathis. Considering all the “rumored” drug problems she has battled over the years and scary photos that have surfaced, she was looking pretty good. I really hope that this sudden whirlwind of news means that she’s got her life in order and is trying to make a comeback. This is when she started singing "(You make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman" in the car on the way out -- Brown was released after receiving a copy of the charge.
March 26, 2004 - Brown was released from the county jail Thursday after spending a night behind bars for failing to pay $63,500 in child support. He paid up, and said the whole thing was a misunderstanding
May 5, 2004 - Brown is scheduled to appear in a Fulton County, GA court to face misdemeanor battery charges after he allegedly hit his wife, leaving her with a bruised cheek and a cut lip. A judge ordered there was enough evidence for Brown to stand trial on misdemeanor battery charges for allegedly hitting Houston in the face at their home near Alpharetta, a suburb north of Atlanta.
April 10, 2006 - The National Enquirer published pictures of a bathroom, allegedly Houston's, littered with drug paraphernalia. These pictures were taken and reportedly provided to the enquirer by Tina Brown, Bobby Brown's sister. Tina also said there was holes drilled in the walls so Houston could see if anyone was entering her apartment, but the pictures do not show this.
